CBD came out of nowhere to take over the world as one of the most popular and prominent supplements of recent years. From CBD-heavy cannabis to all types of extracts and edibles, there’s no shortage of options to choose from.

But which of the available options is considered the best method of getting CBD into your system? If you’re not really interested in smoking weed with a high CBD content, which of the alternative methods available should you go with?

Personal preference plays a big role in the whole thing, but there’s much to be said for the unique benefits of CBD isolate.

What is CBD Isolate?

In the simplest of terms, CBD isolate is basically a powdered (or crystallized) form of pure CBD extract. Whereas the vast majority of high-potency CBD extracts are available in the form of oils and liquids, CBD isolate is a dry product.

Impressively, the highest-quality CBD isolate money can buy will usually test for a minimum of 99% pure CBD. This makes it one of the most potent CBD products on the market, which is also exceptionally versatile in terms of consumption methods.

Though CBD isolate has an entirely different appearance and texture to ‘conventional’ CBD concentrates, it’s more or less the same product by way of its applications and effectiveness. It’s not going to get you high irrespective of how much you consume, given the fact that it contains no THC whatsoever.

In addition, it is also completely devoid of any taste or smell, which makes it a preferable alternative to some CBD oils and extracts for many users.

Can I Make my Own CBD Isolate?

Theoretically, producing some form of CBD isolate at home isn’t impossible.  However, you’d need such an extraordinary setup of extraction, filtration and purifying paraphernalia that the costs would far outweigh the benefits.

Instead, therefore, it’s better to pick up the highest-quality CBD isolate you can find from a reputable manufacturer. Don’t simply assume that all CBD isolates (and extracts in general) are of the same potency and quality standard.

It’s actually quite the opposite – a sizeable proportion of the CBD products up for sale right now are pure garbage, so shop strategically.

How Should I Use CBD Isolate?

As for how to get this unusual powdered substance into your system, you can more or less take it in exactly the same way as a CBD oil. You can use it as an ingredient in your own DIY concoctions, it can be vaporized and inhaled, or you could add it to your chosen topicals. You can even pack carefully measured quantities into capsules and take it in pill form.

Though the easiest way of consuming CBD isolate is to simply place the required amount directly under your tongue. It has absolutely no fragrance of flavor whatsoever, so doing so isn’t an unpleasant experience.

CBD isolate can also be great for bringing into almost any recipes and culinary creations of your choosing. That said, it’s important to avoid heating it beyond 320° F, as at this point its potency and effectiveness may begin to deteriorate.

If cooking with CBD isolate, the same subsequent storage rules apply as when stashing cannabis edibles to one side. Airtight packaging, a cool spot in a cupboard and minimal exposure to light all contributing to a longer shelf life.

Always Read the Label…

Just to revisit that point of primary importance once again – always read the label carefully when shopping for CBD extracts and concentrates. Don’t buy too much into misleading slogans and marketing messages, instead checking exactly how much CBD is in the product and the producer’s preferred extraction method.
