Ain’t I a Stinker?

Bud Basics

Recognized as one of the most important commercial cannabis strains of all-time, Skunk has lent her formidable genetics to some of the best-selling superstars on the scene, and in her own right is one of the most quintessential old-school strains of all time.

Without Skunk #1, a long list of the world’s favorite strains wouldn’t exist. Examples of which include Grape Ape, Green Crack, UK Cheese and Jack Herer. Hence, this is a strain that should be celebrated and appreciated by anyone with a taste for quality cannabis.

If you’re simply out to get as high as you possibly can for the sake of doing so, look elsewhere. By contrast, if you’re more about the all-round enjoyment of the experience and can see past slightly less than completely face-melting THC levels, Skunk #1 needs adding to your arsenal.

A staple on the Amsterdam coffeeshop scene since the day of her debut, Skunk #1 Feminized is also a gift to grow without specialist knowledge or skills required.

Originally engineered by the folks at Sensi Seeds, who brought together the genetics of Acapulco Goldand Columbian Gold Sativas and Afghani Indica back in 1985. The amalgamation of these three landrace strains resulted in an all-new hybrid with 35% Sativa and 65% Indica genetics that swiftly became one of the most relied on strains for consumers, cultivators and breeders alike.

This relatively equal balance of Indica and Sativa genetics have made Skunk Feminized an immensely popular strain in both recreational and therapeutic cannabis circles alike.

Better still, this feminized version practically eliminates the risk of unwanted male plants from the equation.

While a THC content of around 17% is by no means the highest available on the marijuana market these days, you’ll find this connoisseur-worthy strain packs more than enough enjoyment for those who appreciate more than sheer couchlocking potency alone.

Flavor and Fragrance of Skunk Feminized

As the name suggests, Skunk Feminized is relatively one-dimensional by way of her fragrance. Not that this is a bad thing – a pungent and powerful stink of old-school Skunk is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. All the usual complexities of contemporary strains go completely out of the window with this stuff, making for a welcome break from the norm.

Dank, earthy and slightly sour on the nose, Skunk #1 has a generous and diverse composition of terpenes, including (but not limited to) myrcene, alpha-pinene, limonene, terpinolene, beta-caryophyllene, beta-phellandrene and camphene - helping to set the bar for the entire Skunk strain family.

Exactly the same applies on the palate, where this stuff gets to work with a sour and earthy flavor that sticks around indefinitely. Heavy, pungent and dank on the highest possible level, Skunk Feminized tastes exactly how you’d describe the flavor of weed to someone who’s never smoked the stuff.

Though physically relaxing practically to the point of sedation, Skunk Feminized also invigorates with the kind of energy that’s guaranteed to keep you awake for the next few hours at least. You won’t be able to sleep until this burns out, nor will you be able to find the strength to do much at all.

Instead, it’s a case of lounging around in a trance-like state for the duration, during which you’ll be experiencing an appreciation for everything in the vicinity.

Creativity and inspiration come on in waves, as do unexpected fits of laughter and the desire to socialize. Skunk is definitely a strain to reserve for lazy evenings or weekends with nothing to do – a great ganja for chilling with friends or some well-deserved solo time.

Medical Uses of Skunk Feminized

By a considerable margin, Skunk Feminized is one of the most versatile and widely used therapeutic cannabis strains in the world. The fantastically balanced effects combined with a potency that’s not toooverbearing make these buds just the thing for getting to grips with all types of physical and psychological complaints.

The list of illnesses and symptoms Skunk #1 is used to treat is practically endless, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, fatigue, chronic pain, migraines, headaches, ADHD, insomnia and dozens more besides. The long and short of it being that whatever’s bothering you at the time, these buds will make light work of it – without knocking you sideways.

Skunk is also guaranteed to bring on a relatively modest bout of the munchies, but won’t have you eating yourself out of house and home, simply for the sake of it.

Growing Skunk Feminized Seeds

This hybrid was originally cultivated in the Netherlands, where weather conditions aren’t particularly fantastic or predictable at the best of times. As a result, Skunk #1 Feminized is a naturally durable and resilient strain, which can be grown quite easily indoors or out and demonstrates excellent resilience to most common plant problems, though can be quite susceptible to mold as the plants reach maturity.

As this is the feminized version of the original, you’re pretty much guaranteed near-100% female plants for maximum returns.

Controlled indoor conditions or a sunny greenhouse will help you get the best out of your crop when growing Skunk Feminized plants, which are ready to harvest after around nine weeks of flowering. Yields vary in accordance with cultivation conditions, though tend to average around 18oz of quality weed for every square meter of grow space.

Keep an eye on temperatures and humidity levels, the rest more or less takes care of itself - Skunk #1 is an extremely easy strain to grow and is therefore ideal for amateurs.

Legendary for her skunky, earthy and super-dank flavors, Skunk provides a beautifully balanced mix of relaxing and uplifting effects.

Easy to grow and with a modestly potent THC content in the region of 17%, this is one of the most accessible and widely enjoyed strains money can buy.

A true legend on the scene that continues to set the bar for all Skunk sub-strains worldwide.
