Out of this World Weed
Bud Basics
Due to their otherworldly cerebral highs, most Haze and Sativa-heavy strains are highly coveted in the cannabis community, and their prolific harvests are an added bonus not to be ignored. Yet they’re difficult to grow since their flowering periods are much longer - meaning any location with shorter summers is a lost cause, and cold seasons are a total no-go.
Still, it was only a matter of time before breeders put their clever little minds to the task, and so Nevil Schoenmakers developed a strain that included all the sought after characteristics of Haze strains, without the notorious difficulties. Hence, Neville’s Haze Feminized entered the 420 scene.
A new and improved version of the legendary Haze, this weed is still Sativa-dominant, but shows the clear influence of Northern Lights #5 in her genetics, since she’s more resinous and more than capable of withstanding a more temperamental climate than her ancestor.
Spicy and sweet with citrus and floral notes, the flavors of this herb are almost as out-of-this-world as her highs are, but this psychedelic strain has so much more than a delicious flavor to offer. With a THC content of 21%, she’s as cerebral and hard-hitting as you’d expect, inducing bursts of vigor and enthusiasm without the characteristic lull of her ¼ parent.
As a medical strain, Neville’s Haze Fem is great for pain relief and psychological relief, sure to alleviate low mood and anxiety while using her anti-inflammatory abilities to reduce and mitigate all kinds of aches and ailments.
Growing this ganja is still more complicated than most other strains, but though she’s challenging, she’s worth investing your time and energy into. With an extended flowering period, you’ll find she matures into a massive marijuana plant that generously rewards any cultivator willing to give her a chance. Her yields are plentiful, her nugs are sticky as hell, and with all-fem seeds, at least that’s one less task to worry about.
Flavor and Fragrance of Neville's Haze Feminized
Sweet with the tropical taste of fresh lemons, Neville’s Haze exudes spicy floral and pine notes as you break apart her buds, and is one of the most fragrant strains available.
Once smoked, this develops into a citrus flavor that’s sweetened by off notes of honey and earth that linger on the tongue long after you’re done.
Effects
Have you ever drunk so many shots of espresso that you start to think you can hear colors? While not quite like that, the high that Neville’s Haze Fem induces isn’t far off - cerebral and almost psychedelic, the high is out of this world and can be way too much for newbies, the inexperienced or even just those who are sensitive to THC. For those more seasoned smokers, though, this is an incredible experience - one not to be missed.
Reaching a massive 21% THC content, it doesn’t take long for this herb’s hard-hitting high to kick in, jolting the brain with energy that spreads quickly to the body to sharpen focus and stir those creative juices.
Bursting with vigor, you’ll find your enthusiasm heightened and your motivation increased, combining to make you the most productive you’ve ever been - so of course, Neville’s Haze is the very definition of a wake-and-bake strain.
Though there’s a little of Northern Lights #5 present in this strain, the sedating effect that’s her defining characteristic is barely present here, and you won’t find yourself couch locked or unable to move or carry out an activity. No, all that this marijuana takes from that side of her parentage is the subtle sense of relaxation that grounds your energy into a pleasant (though still soaring) cerebral high, devoid of hyperactivity.
As with most strains, try not to overindulge if you’re intending to avoid adverse effects such as dizziness, heightened anxiety or increased paranoia. Low and slow is the way to go, though dry mouth and eyes are almost a certainty regardless.
Medical Uses of Neville's Haze Feminized
The strong, soaring cerebral high associated with Neville’s Haze might be great as a wake-and-bake or enjoyed recreationally, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be utilized for its medical applications.
Possessing both antidepressant and anxiolytic properties, this is a weed that can remedy anxiety and depression as well as stress, providing immense relief for any mental ailments characterized by low mood and intrusive thoughts.
This herb is also noted to have potent antioxidant, analgesic and anti-inflammatory qualities that qualify her as a contender for easing chronic pain conditions, including the likes of headaches, back pain, migraines, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and many more. By relaxing the muscles, Neville’s Haze Fem releases knots and tension, softening up the limbs and temporarily alleviating pain and fatigue.
Growing Neville's Haze Feminized Seeds
Almost entirely Sativa, still Neville’s Haze Feminized manages to retain some of her slight Indica heritage in the form of growth characteristics, lending her the resilience required to simplify this complex plant.
We say complex as even experienced growers might find this herb one of the most challenging strains to rear, and a certain level of knowledge (and a touch of bravery) is required to persist with this plant.
Monstrous in size (around 250 centimeters when fully grown), this weed has a flowering period much longer than many of her peers and is incredibly sensitive to even the smallest changes in her pH levels. Her feeding needs are very specific, too - but her buds are the most trichome-heavy we’ve seen in a Sativa by a long shot.
As substrates go, we’d highly recommend growing Neville’s Haze Fem in organic soil, as it already contains many natural microorganisms that act to balance drastic pH levels before too much damage is done. Incidentally, ideal pH levels should be kept between 6.0 and 6.8 to make sure she thrives.
Indoor growers, make sure you have plenty of vertical space available to accommodate for this monstrous mama’s height - and you may have to manage her height if you don’t have space. A Screen of Green (SCROG) technique will spur lateral growth, whilst increasing the final harvest size since it will encourage more budding sites to develop.
Though the leaf-to-calyx ratio is particularly good with Neville’s Haze, the plant still requires pruning and maintenance on a regular basis if you wish to keep her in optimal shape.
She’ll require some TLC and more than her fair share of patience, as she’ll flower for 10 to 14 weeks - but at the end of it all, you’ll be able to yield between 600 and 650 grams per square meter.
If growing outdoors, a warm and pleasant Mediterranean climate is best - though it’s difficult to be discreet about growing a plant this big - especially when outdoors, she can reach up to 400 centimeters! But, this massive height makes for mighty marijuana hauls, and you could reap a harvest of around 800 grams of frosty nugs per plant.
Summary
Though hailing from notorious origins, breeder Nevil Schoenmakers really outdid himself with this herb, and Neville’s Haze Feminized is truly a marvelous marijuana, far surpassing her parents in every way.
Still a challenge for cannabis cultivators, the really grueling tasks involved in growing most Haze and Sativa-heavy strains are simplified with this weed - though plenty of work is still involved.
Once dried, cured and ready to go, Neville’s Haze suddenly seems worth the effort and then some - potent with aromas of spicy lemon and floral pine, rolling up this joint will have you salivating before you light up. Once you do, you’ll be so wrapped up in her otherworldly, cerebral high that you forget all about the troubles of rearing her.
And if you’re in it for the medicinal merits, a few tokes is all it takes for this hard-hitter to lift your sorrows and ease your sores.
